Shakespeare is a genius.
God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything
There is a common thing in all of the anti-God-and-religion books, which is the misunderstanding of some of the major points and ideas in religions, especially Islam.
For example, in this book Hitchens says that in Islam, and according to the Koran, apostasy is punishable by death.
This is actually wrong! Koran never said that apostasy is punishable by death! In fact, apostasy has no consequences in the Koran. On the contrary, according to the Koran, people are free to believe whatever they want! There is no punishment whatsoever.
The major problems with Hitchens and other atheist writers is that they write about Islam without really understanding it or even reading the Koran fully and thoroughly. They confuse many personal beliefs of some Islamic groups with the Koran.
Generally speaking, this book has many good points. But the amount of bullshit is still much greater!

There are many good points in this book.
And, on the other hand, there is a huge amount of bullshit!
This book, in my opinion, is full of meaningless ideas and false accusations. Sam Harris apparently doesn't mean understand Islam or even religion for that matter. I felt that he read the Koran just to criticize it!
I didn't like it. It's really boring and tedious.
One word to describe the book: childish!

طبعاً، وقبل كل شيء،
أبو نواس هو صاحب الأبيات العظيمة التي مطلعها:
يا رب إن عظمت ذنوبي كثرةً. فلقد علمت بأن عفوك أعظَمُ.
كنت أتوقع أن يكون الشعر في هذا الكتاب شعراً ماجناً كما قيل عنه.
ولكنه كان، لصدمتي، شعراً أكثر بكثير من ماجن!! لا توجد كلمة تصفه!!
ما أعجبني فيه، هو بلاغة وفصاحة أبو نواس في التعبير حتى عن أفكاره المريضة!
كما أعجبني صدقه وصراحته في وصف مشاعره! ربما يعتبرها الكثير وقاحة منه، ولكنني أراها، خاصة في هذا الزمن المتَّشِح بالأكاذيب والنفاق، إيجابية كبيرة ونقطة قوة!
أنصح بقراءته، لأولئك الذين يجدون الجميل والإيجابي في أشد الأشياء قبحاً.

Wow! I really feel like WOW!
There are a lot of events that I didn't know about, though I watched the series!
Maybe this is the best book in the whole series. Full of events and drama.
Recommended.

كما ويحتوي الكتاب على عدة دراسات مقارنة بين أعمال أدبية روائية وقصصية وشعرية.
مدخل إلى الشعر العربي الحديث: دراسة نقدية
دراسة جيدة إلى حد ما.
أعجبني أكثر كتاب الدكتور نذير المتخصص في شعر السياب وتأثير إيديث سيتويل عليه.
هذا الكتاب فيه دراسات نقدية قيّمة. ولكنها عامة وفضفاضة

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
I've been always a fan of Harry Potter. It's one of my favorite series.
The first book is awesome. I watched the movies, of course, more than once, but the books have their own special, and maybe different, magical touch!
Recommended!

لفق المسلمون إذ قالوا
كتاب جميل.
برأيي أن أوزون كان موفقاً بشكل كبير في طرحه.
وهذا شيء أسعدني بالتأكيد. خاصة بعد أن خيّب أملي في كتابَيه: الإسلام هل هو الحل؟ و جناية الشافعي.
ولكن، من منا معصوم ومنزّه عن الخطأ؟
أعترف أنني فقدت الأمل من أوزون بعد كتاب جناية الشافعي!
ولكن الأمل عاد لي بعدما قرأت كتابه هذا.
كان طرحه متوازناً وجريئاً وممتعاً إلى حد.
هذا الكتاب يطرح عدة قضايا إشكالية، أهمها الحدود والرقّ وملك اليمين.
الفكرة الأهم في الكتاب أن هذه الأحكام (خصوصاً أحكام ملك اليمين والرق) هي احكام وقتية خاصة بزمانها.
كما أن الكاتب كان جريئات عندما قال أن الإسلام لم يُضِف جديداً إلا فكرة ضرورة التطور والتجديد. وهي ما يريد الله تعالى أن يُفهِمنا إياه. بأن الشريعة لا بد أن تتلاءم مع ظروف الإنسان وثقافته. فقد تطور الدين الإلهي عبر العصور في تشريعاته من اليهودية إلى المسيحية ثم الإسلام. وهذا التطور (حسب الكاتب) يوحي بمغزى الدين الذي أراده الله. فالدين ضد الجمود. الدين مع الإنسان، وللإنسان.
كتاب جيد .. جداً :)
