“I am Divergent.
And I can’t be controlled.”
How many languages are there in this world?
How many beautiful colors? How many touching words?
How many loving hearts? How many romantic feelings?
Bring them all, mix them all, put them all elegantly into a one perfect, beautiful and extraordinary picture. Look at it. Observe it. Do you see how nice it is? It's fabulous, isn't it?
Well, If you want to describe how beautifully Divergent is written, then you're gonna need to imagine something even more perfect, more beautiful, and more extraordinary than that! Because Divergent is, simply, INDESCRIBABLE!
To be honest, I didn't expect it to be that awesome and deep! I expected it to be shallow!
It surprised me - and that's the kind of novels I love.
It encourages you to listen to your own voice, to believe in your own abilities and to do what you really want. It tells you that humans, by nature, are flawed! They do mistakes, and they can be so cruel. Humans are not always good.
“Human beings as a whole cannot be good for long before the bad creeps back in and poisons us again”
I liked the idea of Factions. I think they masterly depicted the different types of people in this world. In conclusion, I think the main idea of this novel is to encourage us to be Divergent! It shouts into your face: "DO NOT SELL YOUR MIND TO ANYONE! DO NOT IMPRISON YOURSELF IN ONE FACTION! YOU CAN NOT BE CONTROLLED".
And always remember:
“Every faction conditions its members to think and act a certain way. And most people do it. For most people, it’s not hard to learn, to find a pattern of thought that works and stay that way. But our minds move in a dozen different directions. We can’t be confined to one way of thinking, and that terrifies our leaders. It means we can’t be controlled. And it means that no matter what they do, we will always cause trouble for them.”
This is a very powerful and important message. I highly recommend this novel to all of my divergent friends ^_^
